LATEST NEWS
Véronique Mathieu’s performance on her new CD ARGOT is described as "stunning with amazing technique both for the rapid passage work and for the unique sound quality used to add expression to some of the more avant-garde aspects of the piece."
NAVO presents: The powerful lyricism of Richard Strauss! Saturday September 9, 2017 at 7:30pm at the Atonement Lutheran Church (9948 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS). Featured artists will include soprano Liz Pearse, violinist Véronique Mathieu, and pianist Lolita Lisovskaya-Sayevich among others.
On Sunday November 19, 2017, Véronique will perform Marc-André Dalbavie’s violin concerto with Esprit Orchestra, conducted with Alex Pauk, in Koerner Hall (Toronto). Her last solo performance with Esprit Orchestra (Thomas Adès’ violin concerto) was reviewed as ‘warmly persuasive’, with ‘poise and beautiful tone…’
ARGOT is now available!!
Released in July 2017, ARGOT focuses on compositions by three titans of twentieth century European modernism: Franco Donatoni, Pierre Boulez, and Witold Lutosławski. Three works by Polish master Witold Lutosławski add piano to the mix, and deliver a much more classical personality to the album’s offerings. These works show a different side of European modernism, one based in clear extra-musical allusions and references to centuries-old musical concepts.
